Zürich, what a wonderful city! And I’ve seen maybe 1% of it. This is a short article because I stayed there only for about 4-6 hours. Here’s a bit of my little fortune about the place.
Weather
I was there at the end of June. The temperature was over 30ºC.
Transport
I was driving my own car, but they have trams, buses, bicycles, and taxis. If you’re in a rush, use them, if not walk and explore the beauty.
Culture
I associate Switzerland and obviously Zürich with quality chocolate. Trust me, it tastes really good. This city is a masterpiece just waiting to be discovered. I wish I had more time to explore it. Until next time!
Attractions
Zürich is set on the shores of Lake Zürich. You can have a swim in the river and cool down, or you can even enjoy the spa at Seebad Utoquai, which was built on the lake, next to the pontoons. Bring your shorts or bikinis.
Visit the Opera House square for exquisite architecture and absorb the upper-class air.
Nightlife
Being a city with a lot of students, Zürich must have a vivid night scene. I cannot wait to go back.
Shopping
I really get bored by this section, but hey, yeah, of course, go and spend those Swiss Francs. Make sure you have Swiss Francs! Don’t worry, their currency looks really cool. Don’t be fooled though, they are not to be trusted! We all remember what happened after the last crash, don’t we?
Food
Cocolate, chocolate, chocolate!
Have a few drinks or eat something in Metropol Cafe/Bar. The setting is really architectural and smart. I’d go there for a first date… 😉
I really liked their bread. They bake it like in the countryside and that makes it taste amazing. I went to Sterner Grill and had one of their traditional sausages with bread and local beers that taste like the Belgian lager. The sausages are not that healthy, but taste really good. There I could watch the World Cup game between Russia and Spain. Well done Russia! I was supporting Spain, but we can say they had their share of the glory…
Accommodation
Book a hotel as close as possible to the lake. The view would be incredible!
