In July 2017 me, my brother and a couple of friends travelled to Ibiza by car and on the way stopped in different locations. One of those was La Roche-Posay. What a great stop that was. We’ve been hosted by one of our friends’ aunt and she guided us around during our short stay. You probably heard this name before and yes it’s the birthplace of the famous cosmetic products which are made using the natural spring water with unique beneficial properties.

La Roche-Posay is a small medieval town that can be a bit tricky to access by car, needing to drive in the proper countryside. Once there you’ll find yourself in an idyllic place from the storybooks.
Weather
It was second half of July and the temperatures were scorching, +30ºC.
Transport
Being a small countryside town people drive their own cars, so going there requires renting a vehicle. Probably they have some connections between villages if you’re planning to make it hippie.
Culture
People are very welcoming and curious about you. You’ll feel like home.
Attractions
La Roche-Posay is a touristic town, their main attraction being the natural and magical water springs, with the cosmetics manufacturer. They have amazing plain fields with green grass which you can trek day and night and still not have enough. For a chilled night out you can go to central town, have a bit of refreshing and rejuvenating water from the public fountains and then relax in a restaurant or cafe. For its size they have a few. For an amazing day out just head over to the nearby river where you can play Huckleberry Finn, fish and tan. The river is fantastic!

Nightlife
If you end up there during one of their festivals or events you’ll probably be treated like a royal. At the time we were there nothing was happening, but check in advance.
Shopping
Well, you’re in paradise, meaning endless youth and life without ending. Treat yourself with discounted La Roche-Posay products.
Food
I heard that not far away they produce Roquefort cheese and oh, man, the taste of it… It can only be aged in those caves, from where it catches the amazing mould. Feast yourself!
Accommodation
You can book a room in a hotel, although they don’t have that many. Rest assured, most locals are running their own Airbnb business and you can find plenty of rooms to stay in with food provided by you host as well.
Travel yourself to life!
